Metagliss Self-Lubricating Friction Plates

1 products · Technical support and worldwide supply

Metagliss self-lubricating friction plates are flat, oil-impregnated sliding elements used as wear pads, guide plates and low-friction sliding surfaces — the flat-bearing counterpart to Bushingo's sintered bushings. Like the bushes, they carry lubricant within the material and release it to the sliding interface in service, so they run with low friction and without external greasing, which suits guideways and slides where grease would attract contamination or is difficult to reach.

Plates are supplied in a 375 × 375 mm format across a range of thicknesses from 4 to 20 mm, and in three material series (M10, M60 and M90) so the plate can be matched to the application. The stock plate is cut and drilled to suit. Selection is driven by the contact pressure, the sliding speed and the mating surface, together with the plate thickness the mounting allows.

How to choose

  • Use for flat sliding, guiding and wear-pad duty rather than shaft support; for rotary shafts use the cylindrical or flanged bushings.
  • Choose thickness (4–20 mm) to suit the wear allowance and the pocket or mounting depth; all plates are 375 × 375 mm and can be cut to size.
  • Select the material series (M10 / M60 / M90) to match your load, sliding speed and counterface material.
  • 33 plate/grade/thickness combinations are available — specify grade and thickness together.
