BUSHINGOENGINEERED MOTION1 products · Technical support and worldwide supply
Cylindrical FP20 sintered-iron bushings are plain self-lubricating journal bearings for radial shaft support without a collar. Like all oil-impregnated sintered bushes they carry their own lubricant within an interconnected pore network filled under vacuum; frictional heat and shaft rotation bring oil to the surface and capillary action returns it on cooling, so the bearing runs dry to the touch yet remains continuously lubricated without maintenance.
The FP20 iron matrix is harder and stronger than sintered bronze and comes at lower material cost, making these bushings an economical choice for slow-running, oscillating or shock-loaded duty and for use against hardened shafts. The range covers bores Ø3–Ø100 mm across 91 sizes, each specified by bore (Ø Int.), outside diameter (Ø Ext.) and length. Press-fit into a close-tolerance rigid housing and work to the fitted bore; avoid smearing the running surface during installation so the porosity — and the self-lubricating action — is preserved.
