Solid Bearing Blanks FP20

Solid FP20 bearing blanks are through-impregnated sintered-iron bars for turning bespoke self-lubricating bushings and sliding parts where iron's hardness and load capacity are preferred. The oil-filled porosity runs through the whole cross-section, so any bore, step or face cut from the bar retains its self-lubricating character without secondary treatment beyond re-impregnation.

The range comprises seven diameters from Ø20 to Ø145 mm in 40–120 mm lengths, suiting small special bushes through to larger machined components. FP20 iron cuts cleanly but should be finished with sharp tooling and light passes to keep the pores open; re-impregnate the finished part with a compatible oil to restore the lubricant reserve before use.

• Select a diameter and length that contain your finished geometry with adequate machining stock.
• Available sizes (Ø × length, mm): 20×40, 30×50, 45×90, 54×110, 70×120, 105×120, 145×120.
• FP20 iron is the choice for heavier or slow/oscillating loads and hardened shafts; BP25 bronze for quieter running, SO16 for the alloy grade.
• Re-impregnate after machining with the grade-appropriate industrial oil (TURBO T100).
