Flanged Bronze Bushings BP25

2 products · Technical support and worldwide supply

Flanged BP25 sintered-bronze bushings combine a cylindrical journal bearing with an integral collar, so a single component both supports the shaft radially and provides a thrust face to carry light axial load and to locate the bush against the housing face. The flange also eases fitting into through-holes and prevents the bush from being driven through under axial thrust. As with all oil-impregnated sintered bronze, the porous matrix — typically around 20–25% interconnected porosity for this class — is vacuum-filled with oil that migrates to the bearing surface under running conditions and returns to the pores at rest, giving maintenance-free, dry-running operation.

Sintered bronze of this type is valued for quiet running, good conformability and corrosion resistance, and bushings of this class typically operate to around 100 °C continuous, suiting them to continuous rotary duty at low-to-moderate speed and steady load. The range is split into two size bands — bores C03–C20 (Ø3–Ø20 mm) and C22–C60 (Ø22–Ø60 mm) — with each size defined by bore (Ø Int.), outside diameter (Ø Ext.), length, collar diameter (Ø Coll.) and flange thickness (Ép.). Press-fit into a rigid housing with the recommended interference; because the bore contracts slightly on fitting, work to the mounted bore and avoid machining that would smear and close the surface porosity.

How to choose

  • Small bores Ø3–Ø20 mm → C03–C20 band (68 sizes); bores Ø22–Ø60 mm → C22–C60 band (59 sizes).
  • Match Ø Int. to the shaft with the recommended running clearance and Ø Ext. to the housing bore for a press fit.
  • Check that the collar diameter (Ø Coll.) clears surrounding features and that flange thickness (Ép.) suits the available seating depth.
  • Need a thrust face or through-hole location → flanged; plain radial support only → the cylindrical BP25 range.
  • Higher loads or slow oscillating motion → consider flanged FP20 iron in the same envelope.
