iglidur J
iglidur J is part of the igus iglidur range of engineering-polymer (tribopolymer) dry-running plain bearings — injection-moulded self-lubricating plastic composite bushings. Sits alongside iglidur G as the low-friction, soft-shaft specialist. Comparable in intent to the low-friction sliding role of Metafram Metagliss composite friction plates, but delivered as a moulded bush; select J over BP25 sintered bronze where the shaft is soft/unhardened and stick-slip-free smooth motion is the priority rather than maximum load.
Specification
| Brand | igus iglidur |
|---|---|
| Series | iglidur J |
| Material | Low-friction tribopolymer optimised for low coefficient of friction and low wear, especially against soft or unhardened shafts |
| Forms | Cylindrical bush, Flanged bush, Thrust washer, Bar stock / blank |
| Typical size range | Standard small-to-medium bore programme comparable to grade G (general guidance) |
Key features
- Very low friction, particularly at low to moderate loads
- Low wear on soft mating shafts (aluminium, stainless, unhardened steel)
- Low stick-slip for smooth, quiet motion
- Maintenance-free and corrosion-proof
- Good performance in dynamic, frequently cycling applications
Typical applications
- Adjustment and positioning mechanisms
- Office, consumer and electronics equipment
- Automotive interior and comfort systems
- Applications running on soft or non-hardened shafts
- Low-load, high-cycle linear and rotary motion
